STEP 5:

Wait for the Final Decree

Congratulations on making it to the final step of the divorce process! We know it's been tedious; but all the leg-work is done. You can rest assured that your attorney has submitted all of the required documents to the court.

Now, you must wait for the judge to finalize your divorce by signing your final decree. Finalizing your divorce can take anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of months, depending on how busy the court is and how many cases are before yours. But don't worry, your attorney will constantly check the status of your case and give you updates as they become available.
